Get Baller Beautiful on a Budget!

Not to be confused with Ballin’ on a Budget… but not too far off

by The Trendsetters

You really want to achieve your definition of beauty… but there might be a few blockers.

Rent.  Car note.  And that pesky thing called “food”.

The cost of things are rising and the price of aesthetic services, beauty products and fashion are not an exception.  If the cost of Botox and filler are top of mind for you, we have some advice.

The easy answer is to call around to a bunch of med spas in your area to price shop.  There are some issues with that.  One, the med spa might not want to reveal that information based on random phone calls.  They are trying to make money and are conscious of competitors finding out their price points.

You should try timing your price searches with when some of the best med spas places in your area are releasing their specials.  The biggest risk is that you find the lowest cost, get procedures done but you don’t factor in some other things that should be considered.

The provider’s ability to match your goals.  The quality of the provider’s work.  And that pesky thing called your “overall health”.

Our article “What is Botox?” has some high level questions to ask to make sure you are thinking about other components beyond the lowest cost per unit.

Your Budget Matters!

However, we know that budget is important, even when thinking about higher end aesthetic procedures such as lip filler, threads and advanced skin care procedures for acne and the like, such as microneedling with PRP or PRF.

So… what are some cost conscious ideas to ensure you are maximizing your precious money set aside for self-care but are still able to get support from a quality med spa?

  1. Ask your provider for an overall course of action.  Think through the look you want and go over an action plan with your provider.  From there, you will get an idea of the overall cost and can factor that into a budgeting process.  This will allow you to achieve your definition of beauty over time and at the pace of how you want to spend.  You will want to factor in the efficacy/length of effectiveness of the procedures you are using.  As an example, Botox tends to maintain its maximum effects for 6-9 months after injecting.  In this example, you would want to time any other potential procedures in that window to make sure you maximize how long your course of action gives you your desired look.
  2. Time your procedures.  Most medical spas release new specials at the start of a month or a quarter.  Information on the general cost of procedures is fairly widely available. This can be used as a gauge for what you need to save up.  The tricky part is that many of the most popular med spas book quickly.  So the goal would be to book an appointment a few months out but just after their specials come out.  Most med spas will have specials that cover the most commonly requested procedures.  As long as you’re not needing or wanting complex services, you might time yourself into a very cost effective course of treatment with a high quality med spa near you.
  3. Tell your provider you are budget conscious up front.  You might have a given product in mind right away.  For example, for lip filler… you may have heard about Kysse by Galderma.  You could find your way into a discount specifically on Kysse.  Or, you can talk to your provider about goals in context of your specific budget.  There are likely other procedures, products or approaches that an experienced provider might be able to recommend that give you similar results.
  4. Sign up for reward programs and keep track of major supplier specials.  Most of the main manufacturers of medical aesthetic products, such as Galderma and Allergan, have loyalty programs (link to Galderma and Allergan rewards pages).  Additionally, they have special discounts that they pass off to medical spas that allow the spas to offer services at lower prices.  The manufacturer will in turn reimburse the med spa.  Staying on top of when these occur will help you save tremendously on your procedures.  As an example, Allergan has traditionally hosted National Botox Day during the fourth quarter of each year.  The tricky part is that existing customers get the inside track on some of these discounts and when appointment slots are available.  Inquire early or use a combination of the above pointers to time procedures while taking advantage of the various reward, loyalty and membership programs and supplier specials.

With these pointers in mind, you can definitely achieve the Trend Effect even on a tight budget.
